Commissioned to Lead
“…I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News” (Philippians 1:27, NLT).
Tonight and tomorrow, the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics (GIAL) Board of Trustees will be meeting in Dallas, Texas. Together, the nine Board members will look at a dozen agenda items, including what is a very significant proposal—the possibility of initiating an undergraduate degree program at GIAL (GIAL has so far offered only graduate-level degree programs). Expanding in this way would increase GIAL’s attractiveness to potential students, as well as help meet an ever-wider variety of needs that mission agencies, including Wycliffe, have when considering applicants interested in serving the Lord cross-culturally.

- As the Board of Trustees discuss the possibility of offering of an upper-level only undergraduate degree, pray that the right decision would be made clear to them.
- Pray for them to sense God’s continued direction and wisdom for them during their time together. Pray for good group discussions that lead to long-term, trusting relationships.
- Praise God for these servant leaders, and pray that they will work in harmony as they help to set the direction for GIAL.
