Not Quite Ordinary Observations

For Today...Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Outside my window...bright sunshine, slight breeze, a yard full of leaves with blades of grass poking up here and there, birds everywhere!

I am thinking...about the writing I need to do today – I’m behind.

I am thankful for...the way God teaches me through my children.

I am wearing...jeans, 3/4 sleeve maroon top, house shoes

I am creating...more ties for Steven (special requests) and Etsy and summer pj’s for the girls.

I am remembering...teaching each of the girls to read. All three of my children are learning so differently from one another. Fascinating to watch.

I am going...to be home all week long. Wow! Wonder if it will actually translate into greater productivity?

I am reading...Plain Wisdom by Cindy Woodsmall and Miriam Flaud; I also need to catch up on the girls’ reader.

I am hoping...the library has some of the books I want for Steven for the next few weeks.

I am hearing...the girls quietly playing in the back; birds chirping outside; a cat fussing somewhere – probably one of them wanting to come back inside.

On my mind...the need for real mentoring and discipleship in our churches.

From the learning rooms...Bible: Rom 8:38-39 & the events leading up to the crucifixion; history: Abraham Lincoln; science: more electricity & inventions; math: solving for “n”, estimating money, time, multiplying by 3, adding one; LA: possessive nouns & quotations, correcting run-on sentences, learning about exclamation points and question marks.

Noticing that...I work better when I’m not surrounded by clutter.

Pondering these words...You might be able to handle that situation by yourself, but you don't want to just get out of it, you want to honor God in it. You want to please Him. So in all your ways, you're going to put Him first. ~ James MacDonald in  Always True, discussing Prov 3:5-6

From the kitchen...trying to get rid of leftovers.

Around the house...spring cleaning, a little bit at a time

One of my favorite things...children who love to learn.

A few plans for the rest of the week...work at home; a trip to the library; prayerwalking around town on Saturday.

A picture worth sharing...Angela in her rather eclectic attire: a long-sleeve dress with a dress-up skirt underneath, a fleece scarf, and colorful toe socks.

Silly Angie
