Thankful
Leading up to Thanksgiving, we’re working through a little booklet put out by Family Life ministries a while back. We’re going through the story of the first Thanksgiving a little at a time and drawing from each aspect of the story one thing to be thankful for. It’s been fun to hear what each child comes up with for each topic.
Yesterday we were supposed to be thankful for something related to health. We talked about how lacking in health does not mean God loves us or is caring for us any less and that we can always find a reason to be thankful, even if we’re sick. But, we are a pretty healthy family, and we definitely wanted to be thankful for that!
Angela’s thankful statement was straightforward, as fits her personality. She was thankful for our shelter that keeps us from getting sick.
Olivia was thankful for parents who set guidelines to keep her from making herself sick by eating too many sweets (spoken with a huge grin and a reminder of how much she likes sweets!)
And Steven was thankful what we have fried chicken legs to eat so that we can stay healthy by eating good food!
